The purpose of The Further Left Library and associated Chat Room and Forum is to encourage support for oppressed people striking at causes of concerns as they see fit.
What are the backgrounds of the Library, Chat Room, and Forum?
The Library evolved from a public Yahoo Government and Politics category chat room titled Further Left which had existed since August 2003. Yahoo shut down its user created chat rooms in mid June 2005. The Chat Room was then installed on its current IRC chat system. The posting Forum was created on Google's Blogger system in October 2005.
